A Chinhoyi Constituency youth member, Donald Chitanha, has slammed the proposed Constitution Amendment Bill No. 3, calling it “nonsense” and demanding a referendum.
Taking to Facebook, Chitanha expressed his outrage: “#NoTo2030Nonsense! There is no constitutional Amendment without a referendum! MY VOTE IS MY RIGHT, don’t take it away through your bogus Amendment Bill #3!! Zanu PF is not Zimbabwe, let people speak through the referendum!!”
He urged fellow citizens to reject the bill, saying “Udzanai ikoko kuZanuPf kuti chiBill #3 chenyu vanhu havasi kuchida!!” (Tell Zanu PF that people don’t want your Bill #3).
Chitanha’s sentiments reflect growing discontent among Zimbabweans over the proposed amendments, which critics claim are aimed at extending presidential term limits and consolidating power. The youth are urging citizens to stand firm and demand a referendum on the issue.
