By Wezhira Munya In a bold display of loyalty to their leader President Nelson Chamisa, pro-Chamisa members of parliament Honorable Agency Gumbo and Honorable Joana Mamombe have rejected appointments made by Zanu PF proxy and fake Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim secretary general, Sengezo Tshabangu. On 29 May 2024, Tshabangu wrote a letter to the Speaker of Parliament, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, informing him of new leadership appointments in the Senate and National Assembly, including committee chairpersons and members. Tshabangu appoints Hon. Karenyi-Kore as leader of opposition of the parliament and appoints himself as leader of opposition in Senate

By Wezhira Munya   [This article outlines the list of all members of parliament and Senate that were appointed by Tshabangu] On May 30th, 2024, a significantly sad event occurred in Zimbabwe’s democratic landscape, as Sengezo Tshabangu, the Zanu PF proxy and self-proclaimed secretary general of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), removed all pro-Chamisa lieutenants from parliamentary committees and leadership positions in the parliament and Senate. Tshabangu appointed several Members of Parliament (MPs) who were claiming to be supporters of opposition leader Nelson Chamisa. However, many citizens view these appointed MPs as having “betrayed” the citizens by aligning with ZANU-PF proxies like Tshabangu and Ncube, likely in exchange for political positions or benefits. There are calls from citizens for any pro-Chamisa MPs who were wrongly appointed by Tshabangu to refuse to take those parliamentary seats, as their acceptance is seen as a betrayal of the opposition movement. Tshabangu appointed Chikanga member of parliament, Linet Karenyi-Kore, as the leader of the parliament and the SADC Parliament Forum. Additionally, Tshabangu has assumed three powerful positions: the leader of the Opposition in the Senate, the overall leader of the Opposition in parliament, and a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union committee. Professor Welshman Ncube is the acting president of Tshabangu’s outfit and all appointed mps report to Ncube. Yesterday, on May 29th, 2024, the CCC secretary-general, Sengezo Tshabangu, wrote a letter to...

Some of President Nelson Chamisa’s top lieutenants are in South Africa today observing the country’s general elections. Siziba is participating in the observation efforts through the Regional Observer Mission, while Mayors Chiwara and Sande are overseeing the polls under the auspices of the Women’s Academy for Leadership and Political Excellency. This invitation to observe the South African elections is a testament to the pedigree and global influence of these Zimbabwean youthful and highly intelligent opposition leaders. Recently, Hon. Siziba was invited to speak at a high-level political gathering in Cameroon, where he received a standing ovation. He also had the privilege of introducing former US President Barack Obama at an Obama Foundation meeting in 2022. Despite being illegally recalled from their positions by CCC secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu in collaboration with ZANU-PF, the political and social influence of Hon. Siziba, ex-Mayor Chiwara, and former Mayor Sande continues to grow. Speaking to Change Radio, Hon. Why ZANU PF is Pushing for the Harsh PVO Bill

By Kudzai Chimhangwa   The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) sector has increasingly become the target of a series of attacks by Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime, as the ruling party Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU PF) pulls all stops to shut down dissenting voices. The ruling party is in the final stages of promulgating draconian amendments to the Private Voluntary Organizations (PVO) Act, as Mnangagwa’s government is procedurally conducting public hearings on the proposed law. However, these public hearings being conducted throughout the country have been disrupted by rowdy ZANU PF activists who have lashed out at any citizen...
