A number of CCC leaders including Chikanga candidate Lynette Karenyi, Clr Mukonza , Clr Mukwada, Mrs Mazingaizo and others escaped death after being ambushed by marauding ZANU Pf hooligans near Pafiwa school just after Mutasa growth point .
The hooligans who were laying in wait for President Chamisa went on a rampage after they failed to locate the President’s convoy . They then started smashing car windows and attacking everyone wearing yellow. They blockaded the roads. No cars were passing . Some leaders were dragged out of thier cars and heavily assaulted. Some ran in the nearby bush
Two Police Officers who had been given a ride by some of the leaders were too afraid to stop the Zanu Pf criminals. At least 6 ZANU Pf branded vehicles had blocked the road.
After escaping Hon. Lynette Karenyi made a report to the police RB no5619796 . She then drove to the hospital to get the injured treated.
This incident happened on the same day as a CCC activist Tinashe Chitsunge had been stoned to death by Zanu Pf youth. The run up to the 2023 election is turning out to be bloody as Zanu Pf continue to unleash violence against CCC members .
