Nketa youth are set to receive football kits courtesy of a twinning initiative between Oxford Youth, based in the historic university city of Oxford, UK, and local Zimbabwean constituencies. Isaac Kawodza, a Nketa youth member, confirmed that Farai Musiiwa, Oxford Youth Vice Chairperson, advised him that the kits were ready and awaiting shipment.
This initiative aims to complement hardworking citizens with resources for social, political, and economic empowerment. Diaspora activists are playing a crucial role in mobilizing funds to fill gaps at home.
MPs like Hon. Daniel Molokele (Hwamge Central), Hon. Lovemore Jimu (Harare Central), Hon. Corban Madzivanyika (Mbizo), Hon. Zivai Mhetu (Epworth North), and Hon. Eng. Leslie Mhangwa (Chinhoyi) are among many applauded for working tirelessly with their constituents, making them prime candidates for such twinning programmes.
The donation is part of efforts to support youth and boost morale ahead of 2028 general elections, particularly now in mobilizing anti-2030 advocacy. “The initiative is essential for empowering youth and promoting community development,” Kawodza said. “We’re grateful for the support and look forward to using the kits to engage our community.”
