In a heartfelt address to thousands of citizens gathered for the unveiling of a memorial stone for his late uncle, Mr. Chomunorwa Chamisa, President Nelson Chamisa proclaimed, “Let us go and rebuild our country. This nation needs to be rebuilt by people with clean hands; my hands are clean.”
The memorial service, held on the 26th of October 2024, became a rallying point for change, as President Chamisa emphasized the urgency of addressing the nation’s myriad challenges. With a firm belief in divine guidance and the dedication of the Zimbabwean people, he expressed optimism about overcoming the economic, political, and social crises plaguing the nation.
President Chamisa urged citizens to engage actively in their communities, sharing the message of the transformative changes on the horizon for Zimbabwe. “Some might say it’s too late for change,” he acknowledged, “but I assure you, it is never too late. The crises affecting Zimbabwe can and will be solved.”
He revealed plans to launch a powerful citizen-centered movement aimed at defeating Zanu PF and other minor parties. This movement, he explained, will be built on principles of integrity, free from corruption, and driven by a deep thirst for change—qualities he believes are essential for the nation’s revival.
“I am a man without corruption tendencies,” President Chamisa stated, underlining his commitment to transparency and accountability in governance. He called on citizens to prepare themselves to work toward the prosperity of a country that he claimed has suffered for 44 years under Zanu PF’s rule.
President Chamisa also took the opportunity to expose what he termed “fake opposition parties,” which he accused of colluding with Zanu PF. He highlighted their frequent interactions with Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House and his farm, suggesting that these parties are more interested in self-preservation than genuine change.
To effectively dislodge Zanu PF from power, President Chamisa emphasized the importance of organization and unity among citizens. He encouraged everyone to come together, transcending political affiliations, to forge a collective path towards a brighter future for Zimbabwe.
“The time for division is over,” he asserted. “We must unite, work collaboratively, and restore hope to our people. Together, we can rebuild this nation.”
As the memorial service concluded, a sense of hope and determination filled the air. President Chamisa’s words resonated deeply, reminding citizens of their power to effect change. The path ahead may be fraught with challenges, but with clean hands and united hearts, the dream of a prosperous Zimbabwe is within reach.
