Hon. Sikhala’s application for discharge was dismissed today. His lawyer, said, “This is just persecution, he did not commit any crime.” Hon. Sikhala is a political prisoner who is being persecuted for his beliefs in a free, better, and progressive Zimbabwe for all. His trial will continue next month.
Earlier today, the CCC grouping in Namibia called for the release of Job Sikhala, reminding citizens that they must attend court in solidarity with the incarcerated MP. Today marks 500 days since Hon. Sikhala was arrested in 2022. He has been detained at Chikurubhi Maximum Prison without trial. CCC Namibia calls for the citizens of Zimbabwe to show their solidarity with him by attending his court today at Rotten Row.
“Today is Hon. Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala’s court day at Rotten Row Magistrates Courts. It is now imperative for change champions to flood the courts demanding justice, freedom, and equality. Wiwa was arbitrarily arrested on June 14, 2022, on trumped-up charges. Let’s offer solidarity to the prisoner of conscience. It is necessary to express our disgruntlement with the perpetual incarceration of the vibrant CCC leader.
CCC Namibia urges those who are tired of verses to show up at Rotten Row Courts today! Injury to one is an injury to all. Wiwa must be freed because he is innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of law.
Bail is a constitutional right enshrined in the Constitution of the motherland. Freedom Freedom Freedom Freedom is what we currently want for Sikhala and all other political prisoners. We demand a Free Great Zimbabwe for everyone!”
