CCC vehicles were damaged after Zanu PF, led by Masvingo Residents Minister Chadzamira, attacked them on August 22, 2023.
The Masvingo urban Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC] members were severely attacked and injured by Zanu PF members at Diyo Shopping Center in Ward 9.
One of the victims, Loicey Makotore from CCC, was injured, and the doctor stitched her up 13 times.

The CCC Masvingo urban members made a police report, RRB 5550171, at Masvingo Central Police Station.
Residents Minister Ezra Chadzamira was present at the scene when Zanu PF members were attacking CCC members, said Mr. Peace Mapope, who was also present at the scene.
CCC members were attacked while having supper at Diyo Shopping Center.
Masvingo urban aspiring Member of Parliament, advocate Martin Mureri, condemned the attack on Masvingo urban CCC members by Zanu PF members.
Masvingo CCC member Mr. Thomas Mbetu said, “Last night, Zanu-PF members attacked our CCC members at Diyo Shopping Center. We have filed a police report at Masvingo Central Police Station, hoping that they will arrest the perpetrators of violence.”
The injured CCC members are Precious Matangu, Loicey Makotore, Tai Banda, Mercy Muchemwa, Tonhodzai Junior, Esther Zishiri, Mercy Muchemwa, Ethel Masimba, and Tafadzwa Zivhu.
The other thirteen CCC members who were attacked have minor injuries, said Ms. Esther Zishiri.
One CCC member, Lingony Tonhodzai, is currently admitted to the hospital. The medical report shows that he has been severely injured.
Some of the Zanu-PF members who assaulted CCC were identified as Garikai Charumbira, Esau, Charles Munganasa, Pande, Jimmy Rukanda, among others. These are Masvingo urban-based Zanu PF members who were campaigning for Chadzamira in Masvingo West.
Another CCC member had her hand broken during the Zanu PF attacks.
Mr. Tonhodzai was severely beaten by Esau.
However, 21 other CCC members received treatment yesterday and were discharged.
Additionally, CCC vehicles’ windows were smashed and damaged.
These Zanu PF members were using the Zanu-PF branded car belonging to Masvingo West Zanu PF’s current Member of Parliament and Residents Minister, Ezra Chadzamira.
A few days ago, Masvingo West Zanu PF members severely assaulted CCC member Mr. Gwaradzimba.”
