A member of the Masvingo Urban Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC], Mr. Lincoln Tonhodzai, aged 24, underwent a serious operation today on the right cheek. This operation was necessitated by an attack by Zanu PF members.

The doctor operated on Mr. Tonhodzai’s left cheek and removed three teeth. Furthermore, the doctor also stitched Mr. Tonhodzai’s two teeth that were injured by Zanu PF members.
The total value of Mr. Tonhodzai’s operation and medication amounts to $274 US dollars.
Zanu PF members severely assaulted CCC members using metal sticks, sjamboks, bricks, and stones.
Mr. Tonhodzai’s cheek was injured by stones and metal objects. Due to his injuries, he lost a significant amount of blood.
According to Mr. Peacemarker Mapope and Ms. Esther Zishiri, the 24 CCC members, including Mr. Tonhodzai, were attacked by the following Zanu PF members: Garikai Charumbira, Esau Mutanho, Pande, Jimmy Rukanda, among others. These Zanu PF members reside in Masvingo Urban.
The above-mentioned Zanu PF members attacked CCC members in the presence of Masvingo Residents Minister and Masvingo West Member of Parliament, Ezra Chadzamira.
CCC members were attacked at Diyo Shopping Center while having their supper after a door-to-door campaign.
Advocate Martin Mureri, the CCC aspiring member of parliament for Masvingo Urban, strongly criticized the Zanu PF members who attacked CCC members. He [Advocate Mureri] urged the police to arrest Zanu-PF members who assaulted CCC members.
CCC members have reported the case at Masvingo Central Police Station under RRB number 5550171.
