Mr. Makuwe was attacked by a group of Zanu-PF thugs who were wearing Zanu-PF party regalia. The attack took place at 8:15 pm at Bikita Business Centre.
They attacked him using wooden blocks, open hands, and fists.
“I was severely assaulted by Zanu-PF members; I have injuries on my right shoulder, face, and back,” said Mr. Mukuwe.
He further explained that he is experiencing severe pain and is seeking medical attention.
After the attack, Mr. Mukuwe reported the case at Bikita police station.
“The police officer recorded my statement but refused to give me an RRB number. He said political violence cases are handled by Law and Order officers who were not at the police station when I reported the case,” said Mr. Mukuwe.
He will go back to the Law and Order police department to report the case today.
Zanu-PF members threatened to burn Mr. Makuwe’s shop.
