As Zimbabweans embark on a new year, Hon. Patrick Cheza, a steadfast advocate for the less privileged and a victim of both electoral injustice and alleged state-sponsored intimidation, has launched an appeal to support the family of the late Mboneni Ncube with a borehole project.
Last year, Cheza’s Mvuma Farm was allegedly invaded by senior commanders from the Air Force of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), who wantonly destroyed his livelihood in a chilling display of abuse of office. Despite this, Cheza remains committed to serving communities, using his personal resources to assist households in need.
The Citizens Welfare Bureau has welcomed Cheza’s initiative, with Senator Vongai Tome highlighting that this was a pending issue after the unveiling of tombstones.
In a heartfelt message, Hon. Cheza emphasized community solidarity: “We are with them in both spirit and kind. We have tasked one of us to visit the family to discuss a borehole water project at their homestead.”
The project aims to raise $6,500 for borehole citing, drilling, and installation – a lifeline for the grieving family.
Cheza, who was robbed of his rightful seat as MP in a disputed election, remains resolute: “I am convinced we can make this happen together… Transparency is key, and we would live to the occasion.”
