Zanu PF members have kidnapped and brutally assaulted Mr. Tarusarira Taona [Masadza], a Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC] activist in Bikita West.

Mr. Tarusarira lost a tooth as a result of a violent attack by a Zanu PF members, who struck him in the mouth with an iron bar.
Additionally, his back sustained severe injuries after Zanu PF members beat him with iron bars, baton sticks, and their fists.
He lost a significant amount of blood, is struggling to speak, and is unable to walk due to the assault by Zanu PF members.
The case was reported at Bikita Police Station; however, no Reference Report Book (RRB) number was issued.
A police officer stated that political violence cases are handled by Law and Order detectives, who were not present at the police station when Mr. Tarusarira reported the incident.
Currently, Mr. Tarusarira is receiving treatment at a private hospital.
Violence has escalated in Bikita West just two days before the harmonized elections scheduled to take place on the 23 of August.
The abduction and assault occurred at Bikita Business Centre around 8:45 PM.
Zanu PF members have intensified their violence against CCC members in the days leading up to the harmonized elections.
