….. As President Chamisa’s give message of hope to the electorate

 

Yesterday, President Nelson Chamisa arrived in Wezhiraland [Masvingo] to a thunderous welcome.

The atmosphere was electric at Mamutse open ground located between Old Railways and Chesviko [Sisk] suburbs, ward 3, Masvingo urban.

 

There was ululation, singing, dancing, whistling and shouting when President Chamisa arrived in packed ground.

 

President Chamisa is a crowd puller and popular.

 

President Chamisa was invited to the stage to speak by CCC national organizer Honourable Amos Chibaya.

 

He [President Chamisa] articulated a message pregnant with hope and inspiration.

 

In his powerful message President Chamisa said, he will provide free primary education, affordable secondary and tertiary education, remove examination fees, make Masvingo a logistic hub of Zimbabwe, pay civil servants and workers in US$540 as minimum wage, affordable health, give title deeds to resettled farmers among others.

 

In addition, President Chamisa said, his party will win resoundingly in the forthcoming harmonized elections on 23rd August 2023.

 

At the end of his speech, President Chamisa introduced Masvingo urban aspiring member of parliament advocate Martin Mureri, councillors: ward 1, Mrs Chikwangwani, Ward 2 Mr Maxwell Madhuna, Ward 3 Shantel Yeukai Chiwara [now this ward is in Masvingo West], ward 4 Alex Tabe, Ward 5 Mr Daniel Mberikunashe, Ward 6 Mr Wilstaf Sitemere, Ward 7 Mr Tafara Masimba, ward 8 Mr Richard Musekiwa [now in Masvingo North], ward 9 Mr Bernard Muchokwa and ward 10 Mr Allan Moyo [now in Masvingo North].

 

President Chamisa urged Masvingo urban to vote for him, member of parliament and councillors.

 

In 2022, by elections CCC party led by President Chamisa defeated Zanu PF in ward 3, ward 4, ward 5 and ward 7. It was a clean sweep for President Chamisa’s party.

 

In 2018 harmonized elections, President Chamisa defeated Zanu PF candidate Emmerson Mnangangwa with over 6000 votes.

 

Also, President Chamisa’s 2018 parliamentary candidate Mr Jacob Nyokanhete defeated Zanu PF candidate Mazarire.

 

In 2013, Zanu PF had won Masvingo urban parliamentary seat.

 

Furthermore, President Chamisa’s won 7 out of 10 councillors in 2018. Zanu PF won 3 seats.

 

The above analysis of 2018, results show that Zanu PF is going to be defeated by CCC party led by President Chamisa.

 

Masvingo urban is President Chamisa’s stronghold.

 

Zanu PF desperate candidates in Masvingo urban are dishing out food hampers [one bar of green soap and 2kg rice] to Masvingo urban citizens to lure them to vote for them.

 

Furthermore, police have been disrupting CCC Masvingo urban campaign car rallies, door to door campaigns and yesterday’s mega rally in Mamutse Stadium.

 

However, CCC Masvingo urban members are soldiering on and working flat out to win Masvingo urban.

 

In addition, CCC Masvingo urban has managed to map all polling stations and trained all election agents.

 

Police in Masvingo yesterday fired teargas to disperse CCC members after President Chamisa’s address.

 

Areas around Mamutse stadium was engulfed in teargas smoke.

 

CCC Masvingo province senator Mrs. Esnath Rwambiwa [Chaodza] who attended President Chamisa’s rally in Masvingo yesterday was teargased and she is currently experience breathing problems.

 

Some CCC members are currently hospitalised due to police teargas smoke effects.

 

Journalists, Election Observers, vendors, CCC members were among people that were affected by teargas.
