Today, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) candidates for Masvingo urban in the forthcoming harmonized elections will be presented to the citizens at the ward level.

The CCC candidate introduction event will start at 12 pm at Mucheke Bus terminus (Rank) in Ward 1.

According to one of the organizers of this event, the current Masvingo urban Ward 5 Councillor, Mr. Daniel Mberikunashe, said, “Today, we are going to introduce our CCC Presidential candidate, Advocate Nelson Chamisa, to the electorate.”

President Chamisa will be competing against ten other aspiring presidential candidates in the harmonized elections on 23rd August 2023.

Additionally, Councillor Mberikunashe stated that all seven CCC councillors from Masvingo urban wards, one aspiring councillor from Masvingo West Ward 2, Shantel Chiwara, Masvingo North Ward 8 sitting councillor Mr. Richard Musekiwa, and aspiring councillor for Masvingo North Ward 10, Mr. Allan Moyo, will be introduced to the electorate.

Masvingo North Wards 8, 10, and Masvingo West Ward 2 are situated in an urban setup.

The CCC Masvingo urban wards aspiring councillors are: Ward 1: Mrs. Chikwangwani, Ward 3: Mr. Maxwell Madhuna, Ward 4: Mr. Alec Tabe (sitting councillor), Ward 5: Mr. Daniel Mberikunashe (sitting councillor), Ward 6: Mr. Sitemere, Ward 7: Mr. Masimba, and Ward 9: Mr. Benic Muchokwa.

Furthermore, today, Masvingo urban aspiring Member of Parliament, Advocate Martin Mureri, will be introduced to the citizens of the 7 Masvingo urban wards, along with the councillors.

Also, in Masvingo West Ward 2, aspiring Member of Parliament, Mr. Gasva, will be introduced together with councillor Shantel Chiwara.

Moreover, Masvingo North aspiring Member of Parliament candidate, Mr. Madzivire, will be introduced alongside aspiring councillors Mr. Richard Musekiwa and Mr. Allan Moyo.

Today’s massive car rally marks the beginning of the CCC campaign rallies in Masvingo urban.

All Masvingo CCC members and supporters are urged to attend today’s car rally wearing party yellow attire.

In the 2018 harmonized elections, Masvingo urban voted in favor of President Nelson Chamisa, who defeated Zanu PF President Mnangagwa with over 5,000 votes.

Furthermore, in 2018, Masvingo urban citizens voted for President Chamisa’s 7 councillors, while Zanu PF only won 3 council seats.

The above statistics demonstrate that Masvingo urban is President Chamisa’s stronghold.
