The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Advocate Nelson Chamisa is currently under fire, as it has been accused of putting double council and parliamentary candidates in the nomination court process which was conducted on Wednesday.
However, an investigation conducted by our team revealed that the notorious Zanu PF outfit, Forever Associates of Zimbabwe (FAZ), created these fake double candidates to confuse the CCC electorate in the upcoming elections.
This revelation has uncovered fraudulent activities and highlighted the collusion between FAZ and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).
Upon receiving news of the double candidates list being circulated, it left many people, including myself, bewildered, especially after the unfortunate events at the Bulawayo nomination court which was later on resolved by the CCC team.
The list which is doing rounds on social media features at least 9 constituencies in Harare with multiple candidates representing CCC.
The first question raised was: how did this happen?
There are various opinions, with some attributing blame to CCC incompetence and yet the facts prove otherwise.
Our investigation found that if we compare the list which is doing rounds on the social media with the CCC shortlist released on Monday which had top three shortlisted candidates, none of the names that appeared on the double candidates list was present in the CCC shortlist.
This has led to the question: where did the double candidates come from?
The findings show that the fake double candidates have been created by FAZ to target the CCC electorate and cause confusion.
According to our investigation, they created fake signatories and CCC party logo to achieve their illegal and fraudulent activities.
The purpose was to confuse voters and discourage them from supporting the genuine CCC candidates in the upcoming elections.
Further investigation found that FAZ colluded with ZEC, which raises concerns about the electoral process’s transparency and fairness.
This collusion between political parties and electoral bodies is unacceptable and can undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
While it is essential that CCC takes more responsibility for actions that are related to them, it is also important to note that FAZ and ZEC have played their part in this fraudulent scheme.
CCC must come forward and disown these fake double candidates to clear confusion and speculation amongst the electorate.
The party must also take more responsibility for their own mistakes and work to rectify them to ensure a big victory for the party.
FAZ and ZEC must also taken to court for their actions to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.
The investigation has revealed that FAZ is largely responsible for creating fake double candidates to confuse the CCC electorate.
This has exposed fraudulent activities and collusive practices between political parties and electoral bodies, which can undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
CCC must take responsibility to disown these fake candidates, while also taking Leah Al action against candidates implicated in this criminal activity.
