President Nelson Chamisa of the Citizens Coalition For Change (CCC) Party has once again promised that selected candidates for the upcoming elections will have a good reputation and no secret bad history.He mentioned that CCC representatives were chosen by people from different communities in Zimbabwe. President Chamisa expressed excitement about having trustworthy representatives for Parliament and Council. He made it clear that anyone who is only interested in personal gain or taking care of themselves will not be chosen to serve in the new government. He also stated that those who use money or gifts to buy citizens’ support or bribe voters will not be accepted. The party wants to have candidates who are clean, loyal, and not involved in any shady activities.
In addition, the CCC Party has addressed rumors on social media claiming that they have already announced their candidates for Bulawayo and other parts of Zimbabwe. Fadzayi Mahere, CCC national spokesperson, explained that the party has not officially announced any candidates yet. They are in the final stages of a careful selection process, and once all the reports are submitted, the party will make an official announcement.
The CCC Party has been cautious about revealing their candidates due to concerns about infiltration and intimidation by the ruling Zanu-PF party, who seem to be sensing defeat in the general elections on August 23, 2023.
