Cllr Blessing Muroyiwa, Chairperson of the Education, Housing and Community Services and Licensing Committee, has outlined plans to address Harare’s housing shortage. Muroyiwa, accompanied by Vice Chairperson Cllr Richard Pamire, aims to reduce the housing waiting list and provide accommodation for council employees.

“We will work tirelessly to address the housing crisis,” Muroyiwa said. The committee’s priorities include increasing affordable housing options, upgrading existing housing stock, and improving community services.

Muroyiwa and Pamire’s leadership qualities are expected to bring much-needed attention to Harare’s housing challenges. The committee’s focus on council employees’ accommodation is also seen as a step towards improving staff welfare and productivity.
