HARARE – A known CCC youth organiser and former ZINASU student leader known as Kudakwashe Taderera reportedly escaped an attempted abduction in Kuwadzana 2 on Saturday afternoon. According to witnesses and people close to him, Taderera was approached by three unidentified men travelling in a yellow Honda Fit, who allegedly tried to force him towards their vehicle after asking for directions near the CCC rally venue. The suspects reportedly shouted “thief” as he fled, in what onlookers described as an apparent attempt to confuse bystanders.
The incident has sparked concern among local residents and opposition supporters, who say cases of intimidation and unexplained disappearances targeting politically active youths have been on the rise. Human-rights observers also note that the environment remains tense, with activists reporting surveillance, threats, and harassment in several communities. Police has not issued a comment yet.
