President Nelson Chamisa’s top lieutenant, the Honorable Gift Ostallos Siziba, is currently making waves at the prestigious Progressive Alliance Africa Conference in Cameroon. As one of the few Zimbabweans invited to this high-profile global gathering, Siziba is proudly representing his country and its vision for the future.

The charismatic youth leader explained the significance of the event, stating, “I am in Cameroon for the Progressive Alliance Africa Conference. The Progressive Alliance is a coalition of progressive political parties from around the world, united in their fight for freedom and justice.”
Siziba, who was previously the member of parliament for Pelandaba- Tshabalala, was unfairly recalled in 2023 by a Zanu PF proxy, Sengezo Tshabangu, who claimed to be the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party secretary-general. Despite this setback, Siziba’s star continues to rise, and he is now one of the key and sort after speakers at different conferences worldwide.
“This meeting is being attended by ruling and opposition parties from different parts of the world, all guided by social democratic values,” Siziba commented. Some of the prominent attendees include the Social Democratic Party of Cameroon, political parties from Chad, Sudan, Peter Obi’s Labour Party of Nigeria, Hakainde Hichilema’s party, and the African National Congress (ANC) from Senegal, among others.
Notably, Zanu PF was not invited to this prestigious event, highlighting the growing global recognition of President Chamisa’s leadership and abilities of his lieutenants.
Siziba, who is currently a PhD student at the University of the Free State, is using this platform to amplify the vision of a prosperous Zimbabwe under Chamisa’s stewardship. “I will speak on one of the panels about the situation in our country and what the future holds for our beloved nation,” he said.
The former CCC deputy spokesperson, who is associated with the Obama Foundation and went through its Leaders Africa program, has a proven track record of connecting with global leaders and raising Zimbabwe’s profile on the international stage. In 2022, he became the first Zimbabwean to introduce the former U.S. President, Barack Obama, at the Obama Foundation’s first-ever Democracy Forum in America.
Masvingo urban member of parliament and top human rights lawyer, Advocate Martin Mureri, expressed his pride in Siziba’s achievements. “He is raising the Zimbabwe flag and putting Zimbabwe on the global stage. Very few young people of his age can get this opportunity. He is a shining star,” Mureri said.
As Siziba continues to make his mark on the global stage, it is clear that he is a rising star in Zimbabwe’s political landscape, representing the country’s aspirations for a brighter future under the visionary leadership of President Chamisa.
