In a strategic move to strengthen its political machinery, President Nelson Chamisa’s National Organizing Bureau, led by the hardworking and dedicated Honorable Amos Chibaya, held a well-attended training workshop for party leaders in Bulawayo and Matabeleland South on Sunday, May 18th, 2024.
This training session was the 7th such workshop conducted by the Organizing Bureau across Zimbabwe, following a similar successful event in Masvingo Province the previous day. The Bulawayo workshop was attended by all Bulawayo metropolitan and Matabeleland South cluster leaders, coordinators, and other top-level party officials.
Addressing the attendees, Honorable Chibaya emphasized the importance of equipping the party’s grassroots with “top-notch political strategic and contemporary information and skills” to effectively compete with the ruling ZANU-PF and other political parties in the country. He stressed that “sophisticated political knowledge is highly critical in dealing with ZANU-PF and other political parties in Zimbabwe.”
The training agenda focused on honing the leadership skills of the cadres, with a particular emphasis on discipline and empathy – qualities that honourable Chibaya deemed pivotal for leaders seeking to have a meaningful impact within their communities.
Mr Farai Chibaya, the Director of the Organizing Bureau and chief trainer also addressed the participants, underscoring the significance of following protocol in addressing party issues and clearly outlining the reporting structure of the Organizing Department.
On the other hand, another trainer who is Bulawayo Provincial Coordinator, Stabile Moyo, further emphasized the importance of teamwork and transparency among leaders, stressing that “to win state power needs a united force, for divisions bring defeat.”
Furthermore, Honorable Mogern Ncube, the Deputy National Organizing Secretary who was also the trainer at this workshop, dedicated a substantial portion of his training to the topic of mobilization, encouraging the Bulawayo and Matabeleland South cadres to intensify their efforts in recruiting and mobilizing citizens to support and vote for President Chamisa.
Also sharing his views on the training workshop in Bulawayo that was conducted by Organizing Bureau, a renowned educationist and political analyst who is based in Britain and former University of North West postdoctoral research fellow, Dr Prosper Lunga commented that, “The training workshop conducted by President Chamisa’s Organizing Department has undoubtedly empowered cadres in Bulawayo and Matabeleland South with strategic skills and knowledge, positioning them for success in their political endeavors. With a focus on discipline, empathy, teamwork, and mobilization, these leaders are well-equipped to navigate the complex political landscape and contribute to President Nelson Chamisa’s vision for a better Zimbabwe.”
The majority of the participants expressed their gratitude for the training workshop, acknowledging its timeliness and the Organizing Department’s innovative approach to political education. The event also saw the attendees celebrating Honorable Chibaya’s 46th birthday with joyful songs.
The training workshops organized by President Chamisa’s Organizing Department demonstrate a strong commitment to empowering the party’s grassroots, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively engage with the electorate and navigate the highly contested Zimbabwe political arena. As the President Chamisa led Citizens gears up to lead Zimbabwe soon, these capacity-building initiatives are expected to play a crucial role in the opposition’s quest to gain state power.
