It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Archford Mudzengi, a devoted member of the opposition youth in Masvingo and the former Secretary of Legal Affairs for the Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU). His burial will take place tomorrow at the Nemamwa Cemetery in Masvingo, with the service scheduled to begin at 10 AM.

Archford died in Harare on 28th December 2025 at a private hospital. He left his wife and two children.

Today, a memorial service was held at the Nyaradzo Funeral Parlour in Masvingo City, drawing hundreds of family members, friends, and community members who gathered to pay their last respects to Archford. The atmosphere was charged with emotion as heartfelt tributes were shared, showcasing the profound impact he had on the lives of those around him and the community at large.

Archford’s body will rest at his family home today, creating an intimate space for close friends and relatives to gather and celebrate his life. This evening, a church service will offer the community an opportunity for collective remembrance and reflection on Archford’s invaluable contributions and the legacy he leaves behind.

Everyone is welcome to join in the celebration of Archford’s life and the cherished memories he created.

Notable attendees at the memorial service included Honourable Dzikamai Mavhaire, Honourable Martin Mureri (Masvingo Urban), Advocate Moses Mavhaire, Honourable Senator Maggie Chakabuda, Honourable Tendeukai Matara, Masvingo City Mayor Alec Tabe, former Masvingo City Mayor Shantel Chiwara, all Masvingo City Councillors, Honourable Emmanuel Chidaushe (Chivi), Mr. Farai Chinobva, among many others. Their presence underscores the significant role Archford played in the community and the unity felt during this time of grief.
