The CCC members who were beaten today are as follows: Gordon Ndava, aged 49, of Zvaita Village; Tyson Tozoona, aged 26, of Porunobva Village; Webber Chigogo; and Sana Moyana, both from Ward 18.

The aforementioned victims have identified some of the ZANU-PF members who assaulted them, including ZANU-PF Provincial Chairperson Delight Mandebvu, Tinashe Mufare, and Panashe Gabriel Mufunda.

The victims have been treated at Chikuku Clinic and have been referred to Silveira Hospital for further treatment due to the seriousness of their injuries.

Mr. Ndava, an injured CCC member from Bikita East, stated, “We have successfully reported our case at the Bikita Police Station. We hope these ZANU-PF thugs will be arrested for beating us. They beat us because we are CCC members and support President Nelson Chamisa.”

Additionally, Mr. Mucheyi, a CCC aspiring councillor for Bikita East, said, “I strongly condemn the violence perpetrated by ZANU-PF against our CCC members a few days before the harmonized elections.”

Furthermore, Mr. Bonface Mudzingwa, a CCC aspiring member of parliament, calls for peace and advises ZANU-PF members to campaign peacefully.

In 2018, ZANU-PF won the Bikita East constituency by around 1000 votes.

Similarly, in Ward 18 where ZANU-PF unleashed violence today, the party won with a margin of 35 votes.

The aforementioned vote counts indicate that the CCC has a high probability of winning the Bikita East constituency in 2023, as stated by CCC member Mr. Struggle Nyahunda.
