Earlier today, President Nelson Chamisa’s led party, Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC], in Masvingo urban launched a campaign to win the forthcoming harmonized elections.

The launch was graced by approximately 500 Masvingo urban citizens.

There was an electric atmosphere at the launch venue, where CCC members sang party songs and danced.

The following are the CCC aspiring candidates for the forthcoming harmonized elections in Masvingo urban: President Nelson Chamisa, MP Masvingo urban Martin Mureri, Ward 1 Sabina Chikwangwani, Ward 3 Maxwell Manduna, Ward 4 Alec Tabe, Ward 5 Daniel Mberikunashe, Ward 6 Wilstaf Sitemere, Ward 7 Farai Masimba, and Ward 9 Bernard Muchokwa.

Formerly, Ward 2 (CCC candidate Shantel Chiwara) and Ward 10 (CCC candidate Allan Moyo) were Masvingo urban wards that were moved to Masvingo North after delimitation.

Indeed, CCC Masvingo urban members are highly expecting President Chamisa and the party to win the harmonized elections resoundingly, said Advocate Martin Mureri.

Masvingo urban is CCC territory. CCC won the 2022 by-elections against Zanu PF in Masvingo urban.

In Masvingo urban in 2018, President Chamisa defeated Zanu PF President Mnangagwa in the harmonized elections.

At today’s launch, CCC aspiring Masvingo urban member of parliament Advocate Mureri gave 500 CCC-branded t-shirts to CCC members who attended the launch.

To bring unity in Masvingo urban, Advocate Mureri gave t-shirts to all aspiring council candidates and those who were not selected to distribute them to citizens, said Mr. Thomas Mbetu.

All Masvingo urban polling stations have been mapped, said Mr. Jonah Wakurakurehwa.

In addition, beautiful CCC posters and flyers were distributed among CCC members for them to give to residents in Masvingo urban houses.

Advocate Mureri encouraged citizens in Masvingo urban to vote for President Chamisa and all party candidates.

To defend the vote, CCC Masvingo urban’s 7 wards need 200 highly trained and sober-minded election agents to cover 50 polling stations, said Mr. Madzikanda.

A well-furnished and state-of-the-art CCC Masvingo urban command centre has been made available. This office will efficiently and effectively coordinate all logistics pre- and post-voting day, said Wakurawarerwa.

Furthermore, Masvingo urban Mugwazo cluster leader Mrs. Madzivire encouraged citizens to vote in large numbers and defend the vote on 23rd August 2023.

Mrs. Chakabuda, Masvingo nominated senator, said, “Let us campaign peacefully in Masvingo urban. Let us mobilize citizens to vote in big numbers so that President Chamisa and the party win big.”

Furthermore, Mr. Struggle Desire Nyahunda analyzed the 2018 harmonized elections’ results and informed citizens about areas that need more campaigns in order to win big.

All CCC Masvingo urban seven aspiring councillors were given a platform to share their views on campaign strategies and other related issues.
