Richard Tsvangirai, the son of former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, is getting involved in politics. He will be representing the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party in the upcoming general elections. Tsvangirai recently filled out the necessary paperwork to officially become a candidate for the Member of Parliament position in Norton constituency.
Tsvangirai is determined to win the election for CCC on August 23rd. He wants to continue his family’s political legacy and make positive changes for the people he hopes to serve.
Another CCC candidate, Dr. Takavafira Zhou, is confident about his chances of defeating the current ruling party, ZANU PF, in the Mberengwa Central constituency. Dr. Zhou understands the frustration of the local community, who have been let down by ZANU PF politicians for many years. He wants to bring about the change that people in Mberengwa Central have been waiting for.
Blessing Karembera, the CCC candidate for Mbire constituency in Mashonaland Central, criticized the ZANU PF government for neglecting the area. Despite consistently voting for ZANU PF since 1980, Mbire constituency is still underdeveloped. Karembera is urging the people of Mbire to vote for change and improve their community.
Takudzwa Ngadziore, the CCC Youth Taskforce coordinator and candidate for parliament, is encouraging young people to vote for CCC. He believes that a CCC government will create more jobs and provide opportunities for young people.
Clifford Hlatywayo, the CCC interim Secretary for Diaspora Affairs and candidate for parliament in Chipinge South, wants Zimbabweans living abroad to come back and vote for change. Hlatywayo thinks that the diaspora community can have a big impact on the elections and help bring about change.
