Anyone who says: “I called for reforms & I was insulted”, is actually the one who is insulting you.
They say so, because theyve absolute trust in their audiences’ gullibility.
They are convinced you lack intelligence, thus will jump at all sorts of unsubstantiated nonsense.
Who in their right mind, would insult anyone for calling for reforms?
Who in ther right mind, would be pro-change, yet at the same time be anti-reforms?
Is it rocket science that reforms will be useful in curing & mitigating against illegalities & institutional capture?
Such narratives are propagated by hypocrites who ride on a wave of victim-hood & projecting the opposition as doing nothing. Those hypocrites are self appointed moral prefects, with an extremely over-exaggerated sense of self-worth. They overimagine their influence & political acumen.
Reforms are a function of Parliament, noone else.
Consequently, the party with Parliamentary majority will always have its way. That the Opposition can ‘influence’ some reforms here & there, are deliberate piece-meals meant to project some veneer of normalcy & a functional democracy.
In normal constitutional jurisdictions, to force favorable reforms, pro-democracy institutions can ride on ‘political action’ that is not only guaranteed by the law, but absolutely protected by the courts.
Such doesn’t exist in Zimbabwe.
You don’t increase heat in a fridge!
One would expect those who are dragged into rationalizing lies & half-truths, would atleast be self-respecting enough, to demand explanation on how exactly opp can “force reforms”. But of-course, there won’t be any responses because the original intention was to gaslight only.
All well-meaning influencers have a duty to guard against mix-messaging. Promoting hopelessness, whilst at the same time pretentiously campaigning for extensive voter registration will only confuse those voters.
Be measured & strategic.
Temper-tantrums are counter-productive8. But ofcourse, we know that some of you are deliberately creating digital footprints to later ride on, when the opposition either wins or looses this election.
Noone should feel more invested in ensuring change, more than others.
Change isn’t a competition. It’s a collective agenda.
I’ll personally never use that: “I was insulted…” line, as a trump card & a badge of honor, worse still as a drug to feed a docile followership
But then again, a brave man stands alone & speaks his mind, while cowards stand in groups to defend someone’s shenanigans
