Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) is not a banned party! Namibia district echoes.

26 February 2023

Yellow champions resident in Namibia are cognizant of the fact that the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by the pragmatic and organic President Advocate Nelson Chamisa is a constitutional institution. The diligent district is greatly infuriated by the perpetual ban imposed on their famous, political behemoth. More than 69 rallies have been banned across the country, we reiterate that the citizen’s movement has the political right to mobilize, recruit and radicalize voters for change ahead of the harmonized elections in July or August.

We condemn in absolute terms the continued closure of democratic space in the motherland. Denying the peoples’ party their constitutional mandate to hold rallies while others are allowed must be defied with a double measure. ZANU PF should desist from manipulating the police, we anticipate that our police apply themselves professionally. They must not be partisan in their conduct, the police should discharge their duties without fear or fever. We are calling upon the repressive regime to level the playing field as we head toward the historic watershed elections.

Citizens Coalition for Change is not a banned party, it has 19 Members of Parliament and a wholesome of local councilors including Mayors such as the political dynamo, His Worship, Harare Mayor, Jacob Mafume who fought hard to reverse the corrupt Pomona Deal. The rights to associate and assemble are enshrined in the supreme law of the fatherland, we demand freedom, justice, and equality ahead of these elections. Namibia district advocates for free, fair, credible, and unfettered elections this year. We are quite exhausted from the incessant rigged elections which emanate from the unconstitutional banning of rallies.

What follows the illegal banning of our rallies are arbitrary arrests, long pre-trial detentions, torture, state-sponsored abductions, and enforced disappearances of change champions perpetrated by the clueless regime led by Mr. Mnangagwa. Citizens have to brace for dangerous freedom against this attempt to illegally ban the alternative government. We can’t begin again to be treated as second-class citizens in our fatherland. Social democrats should gather the much-needed varlour, nerve, and mettle to resist this state repression.

It is now fundamental to take stern measures against the attempt to close the democratic space in Zimbabwe. Citizens must embrace participatory democracy by urging the government to adhere to the constitution which allows political parties to hold rallies upon notifying the police. It is unacceptable to allow the police at ZANU-PF instruction to ban our political gatherings even at our houses. The people of Zimbabwe should amplify the revolutionary voices demanding their civil and political rights to hold rallies like other political contestants such as Chapman, Mwonzora, Mudzuri, Madhuku, ZANU-PF, etc.

On another note, the Namibia precinct is heavily infuriated by the continued incarceration of the vibrant interim vice chairperson, Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala who has spent more than 260 days caged at the Maximum Security Prison on concocted charges. We demand justice for Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala and the deceased Ali family. Wiwa deserves bail since he is a citizen, an Honorable Member of Parliament, and a renowned officer of the court. He is not in any way a threat to peace and tranquility but a change champion who stood firmly demanding justice for the abducted and butchered Moreblessing Ali, it is now clear that Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala is a political prisoner.

We applaud CCC UK province which exhibited solidarity with the prisoner of conscience, Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala through a peaceful demonstration at the Zimbabwe House in London yesterday demanding the immediate release of Wiwa from Chikurubi. Solidarity is a core value of constitutional democracy. It is now imperative to do more in solidarity with Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala, injury to one is an injury to all. We are Job Sikhala too! His freedom is our freedom! Sikhala remains innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of law.

Wiwa has a constituency to serve! Zengeza West has been orphaned for a substantial time, it needs the honorable to deliver his constitutional duties. Bail is a constitutional right, Job Sikhala is a good candidate for bail because the regime tried him for more than 66 times but dismally failed to convict him.
