A door rug vendor narrates how the Chiadzwa community has not benefited from the mining of diamond in the diamond rich area. School children walk a distance of more than 20km/day to & fro school. There’re no hospitals or clinics nearby.
Locals have resorted to doormat making for survival. Roads are in a state of disrepair yet the regime looted around US$15 billion from the diamond rich area. Chiadzwa diamond money went into the pockets of few individuals who’re politically connected.
We need new leaders. CCC govt will ensure communities benefit from their resources which is critical for local development. We will achieve this through: partnerships with the private sector, effective benefit sharing (Royalties), capacity building among other activities.
We encourage citizens to Register To Vote and be prepared to vote in this year’s elections.
