High Court Justice Pisirayi Kwenda has handed down prison sentences to Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe for their involvement in the US$7 million Presidential Goat Pass-On Scheme fraud.
– Moses Mpofu received a 22-year prison sentence, with:
– 3 years suspended on condition of good behaviour
– 4 years suspended on condition of restitution
– Effective jail term: 15 years
– Mike Chimombe received a 17-year prison sentence, with:
– 3 years suspended on condition of good behaviour
– 2 years suspended on condition of restitution
– Effective jail term: 12 years
Both Mpofu and Chimombe have indicated their intention to appeal both their convictions and sentences.
