The City of Masvingo is buzzing with excitement as it successfully launches its Tourism and Cultural Week, themed “Echoes Of The Past, Rhythm Of The Present”. The event kicked off with a colorful Carnival March, featuring energetic Drum Majorrettes, captivating School Bands, and stunning Traditional Dance Displays.
City Of Masvingo Town Clerk, Eng. E. Murakatirwa outlined the objectives of the Tourism and Cultural Week, highlighting the city’s commitment to promoting cultural heritage and tourism. His Worship, The Mayor, Cllr Alec Tabe, delivered detailed remarks, emphasizing the importance of preserving and showcasing the city’s rich cultural history.
Chief Mugabe highlighted the significance of marketing and preserving cultural heritage, stressing the crucial role traditional leaders play in promoting tourist destinations. A representative from the Ministry Of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution officially launched the week.
Various organizations, including Ancient City, Zimbabwe Gender Commission, Kyle View Chalets, Masvingo Flora, Great Zimbabwe Hotel, Kyle Recreational Park, ZimParks, and ZHRC, showcased their products and services at the launch and will continue to do so throughout the week.
