Chipinge Senior Tr4Ed member threatens CCC Councillor
Mr Isaac Ziki, a School Deputy Head at Kondo Primary School and Trs4ED Deputy Coordinator for Chipinge chapter issued a chilling threat to CCC Mutema-Musikavanhu Ward 5 losing candidate, Mr Oliver Chikumba. The fallout between the two stems from the recently held harmonised elections which were described by SADC as flawed.
Mr Chikumba posted the threats by Mr Ziki which he captured on a screenshot to many whatsapp chats groups attaching the statement, ‘this is Isaac Ziki the deputy head at Kondo who sent me some threats 30 mins ago today 30 August.” Mr Chikumba posted the message at 06.04am.
In the message captured, Mr Ziki threatened to destroy Mr Chikumba completely for reasons he did not reveal. “Uri kurwei neni nhai Oliver. I will destroy you and you will regret. Don’t start war with me you won’t finish,” threatened Ziki.
Chikumba tried to ask for the reason why Ziki wanted to destroy him but only to receive more threats. “… I am working on my plan right now. Let the war begin. I am literally saying if we want us to hunt each other and completely destroy each other let’s begin.”
Ziki and Chikumba’s fallout began when Ziki was deployed as a Presiding Officer at Nemadzadza polling station in Ward 5 of Mutema-Musikavanhu Constituency where Oliver Chikumba was contesting as a councillor. Chikumba objected Ziki’s deployment with the District Elections Officer, Mr Saguru, who then transfered Ziki to Mukomba B/C polling station in ward 20 of the same constituency. The Ward 20 CCC winning candidate, Mr Edmore Mabika, also objected his deployment resulting in Ziki being nicodemously smuggled to Chipinge Primary School polling station in Chipinge Central Constituency.
Yesterday, Change Radio published an article exposing fraud at ZEC using Trs4ED where it mentioned one Nicholas Ndhlovu, employed by ZEC as a Deputy Ward Elections Officer in Ward 28 of Chipinge South who was assisted to vote at Marega Prmary School where he is the School Deputy Head. In the article Ziki and Chikumba are both mentioned and this might be the source of Ziki’s anger.
The 2023 harmonised elections have been marred by many accusations of vote rigging involving ZANU PF affiliates like Trs4ED and FAZ who intimidated voters to get assisted to vote by ZANU members. Embarrassingly SADC has sent a fact finding team to resolve the impasse between the ruling ZANU PF and the main Challenger, CCC.
Many in the comments have asked for Mr. Ziki, the Teachers for ED member who is threatening to “destroy” a CCC councilor in Chipinge’s phone number.
