Residents of Mpopoma’s Block 25 are celebrating after Councillor Donaldson Mabutho, the former Deputy Mayor of Bulawayo and current Ward 9 Councillor, donated $860 towards the replacement of a burst electricity transformer. The transformer, which was charged at US$4,500, was restored today, bringing relief to the community after it burst on November 12, 2025.
Mr. Alec Mudzingwa, a resident, expressed gratitude for Cllr Mabutho’s contribution, highlighting the impact of the donation in addressing the power challenge.
Cllr Mabutho’s initiative is part of his ongoing efforts to serve the community. He has previously worked on several projects such as sewer rehabilitation in his ward and has pledged to continue serving the people of Ward 9 and Bulawayo in general.
The restoration of the transformer is expected to improve power supply in the area, which has faced challenges in the past, including power cuts and infrastructure issues.
