Following is the press Statement by Senator Jameson Z. Timba:
A leaked dossier now in the public domain accuses certain businesspersons of looting more than US $3.2 billion — money allegedly tied to state assets, political influence, and control of party structures.

Whether every detail of these allegations is proven or not, the principle remains the same: Zimbabweans deserve transparency, accountability, and justice.
When billions vanish and power is concentrated in a few hands, citizens lose twice — first their money, then their voice.
Accordingly, I call for:
1️⃣ An independent forensic audit of all public contracts linked to the named individuals.
2️⃣ Full public accountability for the looting and abuse of state resources.
At the same time, the so-called 2030 Agenda to extend the President’s term must be abandoned in its entirety.
Any attempt to alter presidential term limits without a referendum is unconstitutional and illegitimate.
In our Constitution, the President’s authority to govern derives directly from the people — it is not delegated to Parliament, nor can it be amended by convenience or decree.
The voice of the people was already heard in the 2013 Constitution, and that voice must remain final.
A government under such clouds of corruption cannot seek more years in power.
It must instead submit itself to the Constitution and the people.
This fight is not merely about term limits; it is about defending our Republic from state capture disguised as stability — and about reaffirming that in Zimbabwe, no one is above the law.
Let those who hold power remember: the Constitution was written to protect the people, not to shield the powerful.
