The home of former Chitungwiza deputy mayor Rangarirai Mutingwende was bombed on Thursday night. He had earlier reported the presence of 2 white Toyota Fortuners without number plates parked in front of his residence for two days. His daughter, Jerita Mutingwende, a recalled councillor, narrowly escaped abduction on Thursday, “foiled by the bravery of local citizens who intervened to rescue her,” according to the family

The Citizens’ Coalition for Change in their alert message said

Breaking: The house of our change champion, Mutingwende, in Chitungwiza has been petrol-bombed by suspected members of Zanu PF. Champion Mutingwende is one of the strongest members of our struggle for a better Zimbabwe. 🇿🇼 We have deployed a team of our security personnel to his home.”

The trend of these wild bombings have increased in the recent day.

In his statement, Mutingwende said that he overheard one of the assassins saying “uyu afa uyu” which means “this one has died”. This confirms the intention of the attackers to take his
