The pro-Chamisa community, along with the Barura family, mourns the loss of their courageous son, Bothwell “Shoko” Musatya Barura, who passed away in Harare. His funeral took place on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Ward 36 of Gutu East constituency, where he was laid to rest.
Honorable Costa Machingauta, accompanied by hundreds of pro-Chamisa supporters from Budiriro, led the procession to Gutu East, honoring Barura’s contributions to the movement. Machingauta described Barura as a “vibrant and fearless youth member,” highlighting his dedication to mobilizing citizens in support of President Nelson Chamisa and advocating for a better Zimbabwe.
“Barura worked tirelessly for the change he believed in,” said Hon. Machingauta. “Sadly, he passed without witnessing the prosperous Zimbabwe we all aspire to create.” He emphasized that Barura’s vision for a better future would continue to inspire their efforts.
The funeral was attended by prominent figures in the Budiriro leadership, including Provincial Coordinator Danso, Cluster Coordinator Mario Dhamai, and Rugare Peace Mafundikwa, who all paid their respects and shared their memories of Barura’s unwavering spirit and commitment to the cause.
At the service, Headman Munyikwa and Sabhuku Tarupiwa expressed gratitude to the Harare delegates for their solidarity and support. They commended the outpouring of love and respect shown to Barura, recognizing his impact on both the local community and the broader political landscape.
As the community reflects on Barura’s legacy, his family and friends remain committed to continuing his fight for change and progress in Zimbabwe, embodying the values he championed throughout his life.
