In the heart of Gutu Central, Zimbabwe, a remarkable individual named Honorable Mathew Takaona has embarked on a transformative journey to uplift the lives of his fellow citizens. Hon. Takaona, an esteemed journalist, mentor, and aspiring parliamentary candidate, is dedicated to supporting President Nelson Chamisa and championing the cause of his supporters. With unwavering determination and a compassionate spirit, Hon. Takaona has initiated a wave of change, starting with an ambitious self-sustaining project aimed at revitalizing the community in Gutu Central.
Yesterday, Hon. Takaona provided chicks and chicken feed to Gutu Central Ward 11 as part of his project that benefits all wards in Gutu Central.
Under Honorable Takaona’s visionary leadership, Gutu Central has witnessed the emergence of a groundbreaking initiative that is poised to have a lasting impact on the lives of its residents. Building on the success of his previous poultry projects in Gutu North, He decided to expand his efforts to Gutu Central following the delimitation process. Collaborating with Mr. Wilson Runganga, a former organizing secretary, and a dedicated team, Honorable Takaona’s poultry projects have thrived.
The positive effects of Hon.Takaona’s poultry projects were immediately felt in Gutu North, where 50 chicken projects were established, involving 20 individuals each. Personal funds were utilized to purchase varying quantities of chickens for each group, and Hon. Takaona ensured their nourishment for a period of seven weeks by providing chicken feed. The resulting harvest will be sold, and the profits will be returned to the owners, enabling them to reinvest or improve their livelihoods.
Inspired by the success in Gutu North, Hon. Takaona extended his poultry projects to Gutu Central, supporting 24 projects that continue to flourish. Serving as chairman, he orchestrated seamless operations, ensuring the well-being of his constituents remained a top priority. These projects not only provided sustenance but also served as a testament to Honorable Takaona’s genuine concern for the community’s welfare.
Hon. Takaona’s unwavering commitment to his constituents shone through, particularly in the face of a disputed, rigged, and disastrous election in 2023. Although he did not secure a parliamentary seat, he garnered an impressive 8,000 votes against the militant and violent Zanu PF in Gutu Central during the harmonized elections on August 23, 2023.
His dedication persisted after the election, as he directed his efforts toward neighboring Gutu West, providing food and transportation for the National Assembly by-election to support President Chamisa’s candidate, Mr. Ephraem Morudu.
Honorable Takaona’s support extended further, as he paid every Gutu Central polling station agent who represented during the August 23 harmonized elections a sum of US $20, totaling US $7,500, ensuring their dedication was recognized and rewarded.
Beyond the realm of politics, Hon. Takaona’s impact is far-reaching. He recognizes the need for comprehensive support and tirelessly provides financial and material assistance to the sick and those in need, utilizing personal funds and seeking help from compassionate well-wishers.
Additionally, he plays a pivotal role in connecting political victims with Zimbabwe Human Rights Lawyers, ensuring they receive the legal representation they deserve. Hon. Takaona’s initiatives also include the establishment of guidance and counseling services, enabling individuals to seek professional assistance and find healing within their communities.
His journey exemplifies the power of compassion and dedication in fostering positive change within a community. Through his poultry, goat, and cattle projects, unwavering support, and commitment to the well-being of Gutu Central citizens, he has become a beacon of hope. Hon. Takaona’s tireless efforts transcend political affiliations, embodying the true essence of servant leadership.
