The Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC] Zaka North Ward 6 election agent, Mr. Jonas Masendeke, was forced to sign a new V11 form today.
According to Masendeke, the ZEC presiding officer, Mr. Mavhiya, who is also a teacher at Govere Primary School, came to his house with a new V11 form for him to sign.
At first, he [Masendeke] refused to sign but was threatened with unspecified action, and he then signed.
Mr. Struggle Desire Nyahunda, CCC Masvingo Urban Chief Election Agent, confirmed the incident and referred to it as fraud. “After a robust interrogation and investigation of the said case, I managed to get in touch with Mr. Masendeke. He told me that he was called by Mr. Mavhiya, who is also a local teacher at Govere School in Ward 6 Zaka North. He was made to sign new V11s. This is fraud.”
According to Masendeke, the form he signed had changed presidential results, which inflated Emerson Mnangagwa’s total and reduced Nelson Chamisa’s. “It was a completely new form with different results from the one we signed last time. The results were different from what we saw last time. They increased ED’s votes and reduced President Chamisa’s votes. I didn’t want to sign; I made it clear to Mr. Mavhiya, and he told me that I wouldn’t have peace in this village. I was left with no option.”
There have been allegations that ZEC officials are changing results in favor of Zanu PF presidential candidate Emmerson Mnangagwa to tally the announced disputed results.
There is a need for CCC to quickly inform its agents in rural areas not to sign new V11 and VB23 forms.
