The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party is gaining significant momentum in Zimbabwe with their #TakaNoVoter campaign ahead of the upcoming elections on August 23. The campain is a joint effort that includes the party’s official Champion Cecilia Chimbiri, along with grassroots Champions and influential figures. CCC is urging citizens to exercise their right to vote and support the party’s vision for a better Zimbabwe.
Recently, a campaign event in Mashonaland Central saw a strong turnout, showcasing the growing enthusiasm among citizens to actively participate in shaping their country’s future. Chimbiri and other party officials spoke the importance of young and old voters voting and encouraging all registered citizens to show up on election day and vote for CCC and its President, Nelson Chamisa. The #TakaNoVoter campaign aims to energize citizens and remind them of their democratic power.
CCC’s commitment to engaging rural areas is also being led by CCC Champion Mutsa Murombedzi through the Mugwazo campaign. Murombedzi has been working tirelessly in rural Mhondoro, connecting with grassroots communities and highlighting the significance of their involvement in the election process. Recognizing the pivotal role of rural votes, Murombedzi remains steadfast in her goal of achieving a strong voter turnout on August 23. The call of #TakaNoVoter echoes through rural communities, inspiring hope for change.
The issue of unemployment in Zimbabwe is a pressing concern, and activist Lilly Nyoni drew attention to the struggles faced by jobless fathers. Nyoni pointed out the hardships experienced by educated men who are unable to provide for their families due to a lack of opportunities. She attributed these challenges to the policies of the ruling ZanuPF party, which have hindered economic growth and destroyed livelihoods. Nyoni’s passionate plea to fathers to fight for their families and dignity has resonated with many who are grappling with unemployment. The #TakaNoVoter movement provides a platform for citizens to demand change and hold those in power accountable.
Influential figures like Tafadzwa Manhuhwa, known as Faffie-dzashe on social media, have also joined the #TakaNoVoter campaign. Manhuhwa, with a large following on Twitter, has shown support by wearing a t-shirt with the #TakaNoVoter slogan. She urges her followers to raise awareness about the upcoming elections and stresses the importance of voting. Recognizing that the future of Zimbabwe rests with the youth, she emphasizes their crucial role in shaping a better tomorrow.
