Bulilima, Matabeleland South – In a address to residents of Bulilima this afternoon, Bekezela Maplanka, a senior official of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), reiterated the party’s unwavering commitment to land reform and pension reforms. Maplanka’s statements come in response to the spreading propaganda by the ruling party, ZANU PF, aimed at sowing doubts about the CCC’s intentions.
One of the key points Maplanka emphasized was the CCC’s stance on land ownership. She echoed the sentiments expressed by CCC’s President, Nelson Chamisa, assuring the public that those who acquired land during the land reform program would retain their ownership rights once the CCC assumes power following the 2023 General Election. This statement serves to counter the baseless claims made by ZANU PF that the CCC plans to seize land from beneficiaries of the program.
“ZANU PF is spreading lies regarding the CCC’s position on land reform,” Maplanka stated firmly. “Let me make it clear: under CCC governance, landowners will not be stripped of their acquired land. We are committed to providing land dwellers with the security of title deeds to further protect their rights.”
Moreover, Maplanka addressed the concerns of pensioners who have suffered due to the economic downturn. She acknowledged the erosion of pensions and pledged that the CCC, once in power, would rectify the situation. Maplanka assured the pensioners that their allowances would be increased to match those of neighboring nations, ensuring they receive fair and dignified support.
“Our pensioners deserve better,” Maplanka asserted. “We will take immediate action to restore their pensions to levels comparable to other countries in the region. It’s time to give our pensioners the dignity and honor they rightfully deserve.”
The CCC’s strong affirmation of its policies seeks to dispel misconceptions and demonstrate its commitment to enacting positive change. Maplanka’s words have resonated with the residents of Bulilima, who eagerly anticipate the upcoming General Election and the potential transformation that the CCC promises to bring.
As the political landscape intensifies in the run-up to the 2023 General Election, the CCC’s dedication to land reform and improved pensions sets it apart as a promising alternative. The residents of Bulilima and the wider Matabeleland South region look to the CCC with hope, eager to witness the fulfillment of these pledges and the realization of a brighter future for all citizens
