Today, Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC] party led by advocate Nelson Chamisa successfully held its candidates validation process.
Validation stage is the last stage of CCC candidates selection process. Thereafter, final names of candidates to represent the party will be announced.
Today, CCC embarked on validation process in 24 rural and peri-urban constituencies.
Then, Masvingo urban and Chiredzi urban will have their validation process on a date to be advised.
This validation process was done at ward level.
One of the Independent Commissionners who refused to be named said, “The process is going smoothly. We have completed 95% of constituencies. We are left with few wards. I think by 4pm , we will have covered all wards. I am impressed by the Citizens’ attendance at these ward based validation processes.”
In addition, the process was violent free.
The Commissionner further said, “I am also excited that CCC has managed to have candidates in all wards and members of parliament in all constituencies in Masvingo province.”
CCC party has vibrant candidates in Mwenezi and Chiredzi constituencies, were opposition parties in previous elections struggled to get candidates.
Its historical for a newly formed party CCC to have wards and parliamentary candidates in the forthcoming harmonized elections.
In 2018, MDC Alliance in Masvingo failed to field candidates in some wards.
