Re: All criminals agitating for President ED Mnangagwa to violate the Constitution of Zimbabwe by extending his tenure of office to 2030 should be arrested forthwith.
According to the Constitution of Zimbabwe, Chapter 5 (90), the President must uphold, defend, and respect the Constitution as the supreme law of the nation and must ensure that this Constitution and all other laws are faithfully observed. Therefore, all those agitating for Mr. ED Mnangagwa (the President) to extend his tenure should be arrested immediately, as they are encouraging the wanton violation of the supreme law of the nation, which is highly unconstitutional and treasonous.
We, as concerned citizens, are calling on and appealing to the Police Commissioner General to act swiftly by arresting all these political zealots who seek to cause untold sociopolitical upheavals in this country for their self-preservation and selfish ends. In the same vein, we implore Mr. ED Mnangagwa not to yield to the demands of some overzealous and malcontent ZANU-PF zealots. It is terrifying to contemplate what the situation would be if Mr. Mnangagwa were to give in to the demands of these criminals.
Police officers (ZRP) have a constitutional right to arrest anyone if there are reasonable suspicions that they are about to commit a crime or have actually committed a crime. In this case, all suspects are well known, as they have been recorded by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) and various local, regional, and international news outlets. There is ample evidence about this criminal syndicate that wants to cause civil unrest and unnecessary conflict among citizens. We, as rational citizens of Zimbabwe, implore the Police Commissioner General once again to act swiftly by arresting all these political zealots who seek to cause untold sociopolitical upheavals in this country for their self-preservation and selfish ends.
As concerned citizens, we are calling on and appealing to the Police Commissioner General to act quickly against all individuals and organizations that are urging the President to break the laws of the country without fear or favor. There should be no selective application of justice or the law, but rather the rule of law. Justice does not respect one’s station in society, and therefore, we call on all law enforcement agents to protect, defend, and respect the Constitution as the supreme law of the nation, ensuring that this Constitution and all other laws are faithfully observed by everyone, as all natural persons are subject to the Constitution.
In conclusion, we humbly urge President ED Mnangagwa not to give in to the awkward demands of some criminals who seek to cause untold sociopolitical upheavals in this country and completely obliterate his few achievements, historical reflections, and milestones as one of the renowned freedom fighters of the Zimbabwe liberation struggle.
