Every day, we have seen Team Pachedu, a group of data analysts, sharing information as they analyze the voters’ role. It seems like ZEC is not ready to deliver a free, fair, and credible election.
Among the issues Team Pachedu mentioned is duplication of national Identity Numbers, recycling of Identity Numbers, duplicate identity information with different names, and moving of voters.
In pursuit of more facts about these irregularities, Change Radio found out that many people have been moved to different polling stations, some of which are not even within their wards.
Our correspondent for Midlands gave us a report that shows some residents of Ward 3 in Chirumhanzi South Constituency, who were supposed to cast their votes at Chilimanzi Primary School B, have been moved to Mavhaire Primary School.
The voters’ names are missing in the local candidates’ voters’ roll, and upon checking their details online on ZEC’s website, they found out that they have been allocated a different polling station in a different ward.
Further investigations indicate that these two schools are 40km away from each other. This makes it difficult for the voter to travel such a long distance to vote, especially considering that this is happening in a rural constituency where the transport system is dilapidated.
This means that ZEC is being used by ZanuPF to frustrate voters and cause voter apathy.
We cannot forget what has been happening in the previous elections, where ZEC has taken sides with ZanuPF against the opposition.
